(Francine Dean in "Rescue From the Martian Harem," publicity still)
Missing Person
Timothy Bottoms, who met Ms. Dean on the set of "The Last Picture Show" where she served as Cybill Shepherd's stand-in for the pool party strip-tease scene, made the only official inquiry into her disappearance. The police investigation turned up nothing but a document (transcribed below), found in the entryway of her Venice Beach apartment:
Welcome, Francine
Upon entry into the Stribling Valley Campsite you will be known as:
Name: Luhk
Age: 5,085 (Solar Revs)
Profession: Weaver of baskets, spouse
Male Possessor: Beyzore (Huntsman)
Children: None (barren)
Character Profile:
You are skittish, hunched, yet postured. A servitudinal life punctuated by beatings and humiliations has made you sullen. You never smile. You have a nervous tick you do sometimes, flaring your nostrils, holding your index finger up and flicking it like shooing flies. This is the result of your many, many years in servitude, not to mention the beatings and humiliations. You are attractive. Your bust is big and sometimes you stick it out when stretching, after carrying water from the creek for instance. You are ridiculously loyal. You are devoted to your Male Possessor (Beyzore) because he protects you from other male possessors and gives you a sense of belonging. You are barren. Your inability to have children has made you ashamed and guiltfully attached to your male possessor. You have had numerous conflicts with your Male Possessor over this issue. Males in this tribe tend to believe that the woman is the object of blame in matters of reproductivity and sexual dysfunction, but a sliver of doubt has entered his mind over the years and he suspects that you lust other male possessors and covet their livestock. Character keywords: subservient, smoldering, stretching, dependent, postured, busty, forgetful, nervous.
Character Costume:
While you are a valued tribal member due to your weavings, attractiveness and/or helpfulness, you are not affluent and therefore you wear a garment commensurate with your status in society.
1. Wooden earrings (see Makeup)
2. Bearskin* waist cloth
3. Blue Paint** (see Props)
*The bearskin should be fully tanned and dried before you receive it. Please inform Wardrobe if you detect an odor.
**Props will discretely apply the Blue Paint. The purpose of the blue paint is ornamental, slathered on the torso of all concubines under age 8,000 (Solar Revs). The Blue Paint is not open to debate, creative or political. It is a lead-free base.
