THE SECRET FABRIC
To date, the [Meemaw] textile fabric remains a mystery. Though we can identify churro fibers and flannel bolts in the yarns, in addition to fibers like flax, goat and silk, we find unidentified substances absent in the Spanish yarns, Moreno yarns and Navajo textiles. As for the dye process, forensic analyses undertaken at UT-El Paso in 1992 and Rutgers in 1994 determined that the substance they used for centuries of rug making contained a preponderance of human blood.
